I have been in child care for the past 5 years... It all started when I gave birth (*wink wink*) Actually, I have a BA in Communications and a BS in Psychology from St. Mary's College, Moraga, CA. I am a bay are native having spent half my life in Southern California. From an early age, learning and being creative were my go to outlets. From the first time I picked up a book I knew that to retain the information it needed to be presented in a fun and creative way. Through my educational career I was fortunate enough to come across teachers that took their time with me, something I have never forgotten. They helped me see that to learn, I needed space for creativity and exploration.
As a result, having kids and seeing the need for different teaching models, I have made it my mission to help guide kids through the requirements of mainstream platforms, in a way that is fun and engaging. I have now studied different teaching models and look forward to getting to explore the world from the perspective of a child all over again.
When I am not home with the kids, I spend my time writing, painting and dancing. I love going out for the occasional glass of wine with the girls just as much as I love going to the Cal Academy of Science with my family. My days are filled with crafts, ideas, dreams and most recently an MIT Startup Exchange Program that helps re-skill and train select individuals to become more successful entrepreneurs.
